He wrote the lyrics and libretto for \u003cem\u003ePyramid, Blue Cross Blues\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003cem\u003eTrifles\u003c\/em\u003e, all produced at Lincoln Center, and for \u003cem\u003eLucy\/Bluebeard\u003c\/em\u003e, produced at Theater Row. He wrote lyrics and libretto for \u003cem\u003eStriking Flint\u003c\/em\u003e, produced at ATHE, and \u003cem\u003eUncomfortable Sex\u003c\/em\u003e, produced at The Players Theater. He is currently expanding \u003cem\u003eStriking Flint, \u003c\/em\u003eabout a women's brigade that was active in a strike against General Motors, into a full-length, original musical.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eEd trained at Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop, the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), and the Dramatists Guild Institute. His mentor is Kait Kerrigan (\u003cem\u003eThe Great Gatsby, The Heart\u003c\/em\u003e, and many others). His dramaturgs include Kit Goldstein Grant of Paper Kite Arts and Rebecca Lowery of MusicalWriters, Inc. He is a member of The Dramatists Guild, BMI, MusicalWriters, Inc., and CreateTheater.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eEd has a storied past. He started writing songs and musicals at age 15. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Swarthmore College in 1971 and from Columbia Law School in 1975. He then worked as a member of the Directors Guild of America as an Assistant Director on movies including \u003cem\u003eThe Wiz\u003c\/em\u003e, directed by Sidney Lumet with Michael Jackson and Diana Ross; \u003cem\u003eKramer vs. Kramer\u003c\/em\u003e, directed by Robert Benton with Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep; \u003cem\u003eStardust Memories\u003c\/em\u003e, directed by Woody Allen with Woody Allen and Charlotte Rampling; \u003cem\u003e...And Justice for All\u003c\/em\u003e, with Al Pacino; and many more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eAfter working in the film industry, Ed worked for 30 years in the computer industry, ending his career as a VP at JPMorganChase helping to manage a project to create a world-wide database of all the Derivative Securities holdings in all JPMorganChase Branches, Subsidiaries, and Affiliates.
