Just when she’s about to get a date, a local high-school girl vanishes—poof!—into thin air. In fact, a lot of people around town have been disappearing. All anyone can talk about, however, is this mysterious new mobile game called Necronomicon (weird name, right?), which seems to have a special power over anyone who plays it. Her friends probe into her disappearance, sidestepping the police, but when they discover that the shadowy tech company behind the game has goals that are more diabolical than merely turning a profit, this squad of amateur investigators must venture through time and space—and into the game itself—before the company can achieve its apocalyptic ambitions.
