Growing up doesn’t happen all at once. It happens in moments. A moving tapestry of song and story, The Moment captures the instant when a young person’s world shifts…and nothing is quite the same after. This flexible, ensemble-based musical weaves together raw, funny, and heartfelt stories of teens figuring it all out: a girl waiting on her college acceptance, a boy falling in love over Zoom, a kid realizing they’re not a “him” or a “her” but something entirely their own. Each scene stands alone, yet together, they form a powerful portrait of adolescence, identity, and transformation.
With a wide range of emotional and dramatic opportunities for student performers, The Moment is a bold, contemporary work written specifically for young actors, grounded in truth and bursting with theatrical possibility.
