About Gitelman & Good Publishers

Only the good stuff.

Our plays and musicals ask performers to raise the bar—and give them stories worth rising to. High-quality scripts for community and school stages, from middle school classrooms to adult community theatres.

Stop producing everyone else's season. Discover yours.

Finding a script with real literary quality often takes a lot of digging, especially for younger performers. We built a catalog around that kind of writing, for every age and every stage. Every title meets three standards.

I.

Broad appeal

Stories that speak to the human condition, with themes that resonate with performers and audiences of all walks of life.

II.

A singular voice

Our writers are artists, not a focus group. They have a perspective and an argument, and they write to challenge and inspire. Their command of language is matched only by their mastery of the craft.

III.

Producibility

Great writing that's also practical to produce, with flexible casting, manageable technical demands and staging that rewards imagination over spectacle.

Most of what's out there is juvenile or just uninspired. These scripts have real literary quality, and my students feel it. I've been waiting years for a publisher like this.
Mary Beth K.Mather High School
“I love the work you all do. It's such a breath of fresh air to have students be able to dive into work that is both appropriate and challenging.”
Greg C.
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart
“Directors have been waiting for a resource like this. Genuinely great writing, compelling themes, simple licensing — everything in one place. The search is over!”
Jimmy F.
Actor/Director/Playwright, Broadway & National Tours
“You can read the entire play! For a director it saves hours and opens up possibilities I wouldn't have found otherwise.”

Founder & Managing Editor

Jason Sebacher

The idea for a catalog of high-quality scripts came from my time as a drama teacher and playwright; I saw young performers rise to stories that were both challenging and genuinely fun—yet observed how difficult they were to find and license for directors.

Today I lead our editorial work, reading every script with an eye for its craft, its voice and how it will play on your stage.

Fostering new work.

Community and school stages are where theatre begins, which is why we co-produce the Spotlight New Works Fest with CPA Theatricals.

Each year, a juried selection of new plays and musicals written for these stages gets a professional staged reading in New York City, with live audience feedback. Selected scripts are considered for publication.

It's our commitment to nurturing the artists who will shape the future of theatre.
