We're always pleased to meet new writers and are accepting submissions for consideration on a rolling basis.

Please carefully review the guidelines below.

Gitelman & Good Publishers provides high-quality dramatic work for high-school and community theater programs. We believe that participating in theater develops vital academic, social, and personal skills, fosters a sense of community, and creates lifelong memories. Our business decisions are guided by a commitment to supporting the continued health of these programs. We believe that there should be no cost or logistical barriers preventing educational and community theater programs from producing meaningful, impactful, and enriching theatrical experiences.

Artistic Guidelines. Please consider the following artistic tenets of Gitelman & Good Publishers before submitting. We seek plays and musicals that:

  • Are written for high-school and/or community performers and are appropriate for teenage and community audiences
  • Authentically explore the richness and diversity of human experiences, with a focus on themes and issues relevant to adolescents, young adults, and the broader community
  • Are theatrically rich: challenging, beautiful, and fun to perform
  • Aren't farcical, wacky, silly, goofy, or kooky
  • Are full-length (at least 60 minutes)

What to Include. Please be prepared to provide the following:

  • Name and contact information
  • A PDF of your full-length script
  • For musicals: demo tracks
  • A brief synopsis (up to 200 words)
  • An artistic statement or short bio
  • Production history
  • Production photographs
  • Misc. submission notes (including rights info if applicable)

Submission Checklist. Please review and confirm the following before submitting:

  • ☑  I have reviewed Gitelman & Good Publishers’ mission, catalog, and website, and I believe this script aligns with the company’s goals and audience.
  • ☑  I understand that Gitelman & Good Publishers markets scripts primarily for teenage and community performers and audiences. This script is appropriate, resonant, and meaningful for this market.
  • ☑ This script explores themes and issues relevant to these audiences, fostering personal growth, social connections, and a deeper understanding of the human experience.
  • ☑  This script has been produced, and I can provide high-quality production photos for marketing purposes.
  • ☑  This script is not under consideration elsewhere, or I will disclose any current publishing/licensing discussions in my submission notes.
  • ☑  I am submitting this script with the intent to publish, pending mutual agreement.
  • ☑  If revisions are requested, I agree to collaborate with an editor—potentially making significant changes—as a condition of publication.
  • ☑  I understand that submission does not guarantee publication, and feedback may not be provided if the script is declined.

How to Submit Your Script. If your play aligns with our mission and you’ve reviewed the checklist above, please email the script and other required materials to submit@gitelmangoodpublishers.com. The materials should be sent as an attachment or as a link to a shared drive (e.g. Dropbox). Please let us know if you have any questions before submitting.
