Michelle has always played by the rules—until she realizes the rules were never meant to protect her. When a coveted academic award goes to the wrong person for the wrong reasons, she decides to expose the system from the inside. What starts as a simple act of defiance turns into a tangled web of secrets, strategy, and betrayal. By the end of the school day, the office is full, the truth is out, and no one’s walking away clean.
Answer Key is a fast, ensemble-driven dark comedy about justice, manipulation, and what happens when student voices refuse to stay quiet. With biting humor and emotional edge, the play asks: In a broken system, can doing the wrong thing ever be right?
Perfect for high school performers, Answer Key features a flexible cast, a single-location set, and bold opportunities for discussion and character work. This is a play for anyone who's ever wanted to speak up, push back—or break in.
