Andrew Black, playwright, hails from Indianapolis, Indiana. His plays include How to Build an Ark, inspired by the stories of women from the Bible; Bitten by a Boomslang, which explores the lives of Sierra Leonean refugees in New York; and Don’t Toy with Me, in which Barbie’s boyfriend Ken discovers he has “feelings” for G.I. Joe. Upon completion of an MFA in playwriting at Ohio University, Andrew taught playwriting at the Indiana Writers Center. His PhD is from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he studied playwriting education.
