Lawrence Rush is an Award-winning composer/lyricist of the musicals, PRIDE & PREJUDICE - THE MUSICAL (also bookwriter, Richard Rodgers Award finalist 2008, Eugene O’Neill Musical Theatre Conference finalist 2006, FWD Theatre Project’s musical search winner/Chicago 2015), which was directed as a radio play by Broadway director Gabriel Barre (Amazing Grace) and has had fully staged productions performed around the world as well as a concert performance at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City starring Karen Mason, Margo Seibert and other Broadway performers; WINTER OF THE FALL (also co-bookwriter, Richard Rodgers Award finalist 1997, workshopped at Illinois Wesleyan University); GILGAMESH (Eugene O’Neill Musical Theatre Conference semi-finalist 2022); UNDER THE INFLUENCE (co-composer, produced by Fuse Theatre Ensemble, Drammy Award for best original music 2015); A MAGICAL GOOSE CALLED SAM; and many mini children’s musicals commissioned by Brooklyn Children's Theatre. He is the composer of award-winning choral music, art songs and opera--including EVER HIGHER for the 2018 Empire State Winter Games’ opening ceremony. He is a professional singer/actor (San Francisco Opera, Gregg Smith Singers) with many roles in musical theatre and opera. He also teaches musical theater (Neighborhood Playhouse, TADA!) and private voice.
