Marilyn is a published, translated, award-winning playwright whose plays have been performed across the United States, incl. Berkeley Rep., Actors Theater of Louisville and Cleveland Playhouse, and around the world, incl. London’s West End, Oxford UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Greece, Hungry and Indonesia, as well as in New York City, at 59E59th Street, Gural Theatre, Classics Stage Co. and Provincetown Playhouse. Awards incl.: Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award, LA Backstage Garland Award, and a nomination from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, among others. She the original co-founder of Writers Theatre, Glencoe, IL, and a founding core member of New Classics Collective, Paul Oakley Stovall, Artistic Director, Chicago, IL. In addition to, Sentinels, and her on-going work with CPA Theatricals (Girlhood, The Moment, Jungle Jim), additional new works include: “Written By Phillis” and FIRE! w/Paul Oakley Stovall. FIRE! is the recipient of a 2025 William Penn Foundation Grant and an NEA grant. It premieres October 16, 2025, at Quintessence Theatre in Philly.
