Shannon Chinn

Shannon Chinn (she/her) is a Nebraska-based playwright and director whose work has been produced on high school and university stages across the state. She earned her B.F.A. in Directing from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2022, where she also discovered a deep love for playwriting. Her credits include The Fall of Lafontaine Manor, The Tempest’s Tale (Raymond Central High School, 2023–2024), Two Steps Back (NWU, 2021), and Something Wicked: A Slasher Macbeth (Shoestring Theatre Omaha, 2022). Her play To Thine Own Self Be True was selected for The Rose Theater in Omaha, NE’s 2022–2023 Sharing Our Stories program and is now published and available for licensing through Gitelman & Good Publishers. In 2023, her play Ronnie, Rosie, and the Feminine Mystique was presented at the Omaha Community Playhouse’s NOW Lab and selected for the William Inge Theatre Festival’s New Play Lab in 2025. Shannon has also developed immersive adaptations of classical works including Come From the Grave: An Immersive Hamlet, Lest Faith Turn: An Immersive Romeo and Juliet, and In Sorrow’s Guise: An Immersive Medea (NWU, 2021–2022).
