Traci Mariano Plays

Traci Mariano is a director, playwright, and screenwriter. Traci co-wrote Fire in a Dark House with Mona Z. Smith. She also directed the premiere of Fire at the Whitefire Theatre (Los Angeles) and a staged reading at the Paramount Theater (Peekskill, NY). Traci has collaborated with Mona for over 30 years; they have also co-written Strange Company, Throwing Stones, and Northern Lights. All of those plays had staged readings at the Paramount Theater, with Traci directing the first two. In 2024, Traci directed Mona’s play Sightings at the Depot Theater (Garrison, NY), and other recent directing credits include: “Glisten and the Merry Mission,” an animated holiday film (vocal direction, with Mike Mariano); Keeping It Inn by Cindy Pierce (Whitefire Theatre in L.A. and a New England tour); and Lorien Haynes’s Butterside Down (Cherry Lane Theatre, NYC). Traci directed the premieres of earlier plays by Mona include All That Remains (Kumu Kahua Theatre, Honolulu); Becoming Something (Kraine Theatre, NYC); and Borderlands (SoHo Rep, NYC). Traci was a Drama League Directing Fellow at Circle Rep’s Lab and assistant director on The Treatment (NY Shakespeare Festival) & The Night of the Iguana (Goodman Theatre, Chicago).
