On a cold night in 1888 Chicago, a group of neighborhood kids meets in a cemetery for what may be the final gathering of their secret society: the Unnamed Children’s Protection League of Adolescent Vigilantes. Formed to protect their community from rumored vampires, the League operates by ritual, hierarchy, and shared belief…but cracks quickly begin to show.
What starts as a game fueled by bravado and imagination turns serious as fear escalates and authority is questioned. Accusations surface, loyalties fracture, and the children must decide what they truly believe and how far they’re willing to go to enforce it. As the line between playacting and real harm blurs, each kid confronts their deepest fears.
Darkly funny and deeply human, The Final Meeting of the Unnamed Children’s Protection League of Adolescent Vigilantes is a coming-of-age story about the moment childhood innocence gives way to choice.

Praise for This Play
“Smith brings to light a little-known incident from Chicago history; the true story of kid vampire hunters. ... Great roles for tweens, particularly girls. If I were 13 years old, I’d die to be in this play. A fresh subject with a fresh approach I truly enjoyed. Not your average TYA play!” - Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos
